New Blog location!

Hey everyone, I am switching my blog website from a blogspot to a wordpress blog. I will now be posting updates in our lives at this website here... www.honsvick-home.com

It is still being built by my computer savy husband, so there are still some kinks that we are working on, so don't judge.
Thanks

Happy Independence Day

Ok, so I know its several days past July 4th, but I figured late is better than never. So for July 4th we spent it with my parents. For as long as I can remember, we have always celebrated my dad's birthdays on July 4th even though his real birthday is on the 3rd. We have parties with lots of people and food and fireworks at our house. So it was a double celebration for us. So we started out our celebrations with hamburgers off the grill. It was a small event this year with just immediate family us, and my dad's sister's family, nothing snazzy. After dinner, we raided our neighbors pool. They are gone for the entire month of July so they gave us permission to use their pool. With all these triple digit days we have been having (and it looks like its going to stay in the triple digits for the rest of summer) we went swimming before we set off fireworks.
For those of you who don't know, my dog absolutely HATES water, always has for some reason, he doesn't even like to take baths. But, we torture him and bring him into the pool with us every time. Dad found that he can swim with a noodle and likes to make fun of him for how funny looking it is. But needless to say, Kaleb hates the water
It was nice being able to get into the water and just be able to chill out with family and cool off from the heat.
After swimming, we start setting up for the fireworks. First off are the sparklers, starting easy and then working our way up to the big ones. Most of the sparklers we used are left over from Jared and my wedding, I think mom was happy to finally be done with them and used up.
As the night progressed, Jared found a cool setting on our Nikon D90 camera. It took slow pictures to create these awesome pictures of extended lights from the sparklers. Needless to say, it was the highlight of the night.
It started of with just easy stuff in the beginning with squiggles and curly-q's.
Next came the roman candles

Then we were ready for some bigger fireworks and ka-booms. I just love fireworks! Jared managed to get some really sweet photos of some of them.

As mentioned before, the delay feature on our camera became the hit of the night. We started getting creative and spell out words. Kalee brought some friends over and they started to spell different words.
Love
BYUI
They got my cousin Walter into the mix.
July 4
Dad and Walter were the main firework setter offer's, the girls were a little nervous lighting some of the bigger fireworks.

I look forward to the 4th of July every year, it is such a great holiday and being able to spend it with friends and family is always great. Next year, we will be able to spend it with our newest member of the family, Easton. I hope he will enjoy it as much as my family does.

Pregnancy Updates Week 28

I can't believe I am at 28 weeks already. Just within the past couple days I can see myself growing exponentially every day. Here is an example. The picture of me in the green shirt is me at 27 weeks 6 days, I still look fairly small for being almost 28 weeks.
Where as here with me in the gray shirt I am 28 weeks 4 days. I look so much bigger, not sure if its the shirt that is making me look fatter or if Easton is just growing so much, or just a really bad camera angle. I'm hoping that I won't have too many stretch marks but after looking at these two pictures, I am pretty sure I am going to be having some. Still crossing my fingers.

Easton is moving a lot more, or at least I am feeling him a lot more. One of these days I am going to get a video of my stomach moving around. It is so crazy watching my stomach move around without my control. Its quite amazing really. I am supposedly suppose to be feeling Braxton Hicks contractions now, but I am not sure if I am. I have been getting heartburn, which is totally new to me, and I honestly don't like it. I am feeling hungry all the time, Jared makes fun of me. I'll eat a decent size of lunch or dinner and within an hour or two, I'm hungry again. I'm still trying to get used to my weight dispersement, its really weird being completely front heavy, not just my stomach, but the boobs too, (sorry if that is a little too much detail.) Sleeping is unbelievably difficult, I don't have the ease of switching sides anymore, I have to completely wake up, lift myself up and practically swing stomach to the other side. Also, giving people hugs is also awkward since I now have a huge tummy that gets in the way.
Another mile stone achievement is that I have finally bought some maternity clothes. I'm starting to outgrow my clothes. So if any of you lovely pregnant or have been pregnant ladies know of a place to find cute but cheap maternity clothes, I would LOVE to know where I can get some, so that would include (Karris, Laura, Jalei and Regina. All others are also welcomed to give me some advice in this area as well.)
Well that is all for now, more updates to come as the weeks go by.

More Baby Updates

So, I went to the specialist again for a check up just to make sure his heart is still doing well. And I am proud to announce, that he is going to be just fine! He looks healthy and strong and his heart is doing just fine as well. It is not getting any bigger, which the doctors were afraid of. On top of that, we got a 3D picture of him and he is finally looking like a baby, rather than a skinny little skeleton.

Isn't he adorable? He's got such a cute little nose! He is very camera shy if you ask me. Every time the doctor tried to get a picture of him in this 3D form, he would always hide his face, its like he knows. Last time he covered his entire face with both of his little arms, this time he only covered his eyes with one hand. Hopefully, next time we will get a full on face photo.

Our New Place

Well, it is official! We have moved into our new apartment, and we love it so far. Granted, since it is an apartment there is always something that happens that always makes us wonder why we would go back to living apartments (other than the fact we can in no way afford a home lol). Our place is still a wreck since all of our stuff is still everywhere and needs to find a spot in our apartment. I am excited to start on our nursery, I think it will be lots of fun! We are going with a jungle theme and the color green! I think it is going to turn out really cute!
Once we get the place in order, I will be posting pictures so look for updates on our new apartment.

Little Easton Updates

Sorry it has taken so long for me to post any updates. Having absolutely no internet really limits my ability to post much.
However, we went to the Specialist and Easton is looking good as far as everything anatomy wise. As for his heart, he is in the "Acceptable" range. Its a little bit bigger than where they are wanting it to be. As far as chest cavity to heart ratio, he is running at about .52 and they would like to see it about .5 and under to about .47 maybe. If he gets over .55 then that is when things could get really scary. They scheduled me to come in again in about 3-4 weeks so they can check again just to make sure. So PLEASE continue with the prayers, until we know absolutely sure. Hopefully things don't start going down from here.
I will keep everyone posted as must as I can.
Thanks for the prayers!

Pregnancy Updates and Prayers for my Baby

So, pregnancy updates. Don't we just love them :)

I am finally starting to show and actually look like I am pregnant. At this point I am really starting to feel it. I am not nearly as agile as I usually am. I struggle a little bit to get into a sitting position from laying down. I can't lift my leg up to shave them nearly as easily. I think I am getting heart burn, but I have no idea cause I have never had heart burn before. I can physically feel my stomach starting to stretch (so if anyone knows of good anti-stretch cream or awesome lotion let me know). As of now, I have only gained about 8 pounds. I have had no cravings whatsoever, so no pickles and ice cream for me. I think I am starting to get more emotional, at least according to Jared. I am much more impatient and I worry about everything but I think I have always been like that.
Well, I went to the OBGYN on Wednesday for my monthly appointment. And we are still expecting a boy. In fact, our little Easton had absolutely no problem showing his little man parts to us on the sonogram. In fact, when the nurse was just doing a quick scan of our baby, lets just say that we had absolutely no problem spotting it. I am so excited to be having a boy, for as long as I can remember I have always wanted to have a little boy first.
So for this sonogram, they did an anatomy exam mostly, making sure that everything is looking good. He is currently 1 pound and 10 1/2 inches long, and he is currently head down. He has fluid is him stomach (which means that he has been swallowing) there is also fluid in his bladder (which means that his kidneys are working). We also saw 2 kidneys, and his heart. His bones looked nice and strong (I have been drinking tons of milk, so hopefully that is playing a big role.) Most everything, was looking good, and I am so happy.
However, here comes the scary part. Our sonogram nurse has some concern about our little Easton's heart. Though he has a strong heart, and 4 chambers working (we could actually see the heart valves), and a BPM of 153, the nurse is a little worried that his heart is a little bit larger than it probably should be. So on Monday at 2 pm, we are being sent to a specialist to have it checked out. So, I am asking for your prayers for us during this very scary, and nerve racking time for us, that everything will be ok. I am hoping that it will be nothing and that our little Easton will be a beautiful and healthy baby boy when he enters this world. But I do ask for your prayers.
I am very excited to be on this journey of becoming a mom for a special spirit of our Heavenly Father. As scary as it is sometimes, I wouldn't trade if for the world.

Pregnancy Pictures

Ok, so I have been getting complaints that I haven't been posting any pictures of my pregnancy. So I have finally put some up. I look totally fat in this pictures, I know, but I don't look that pregnant. I have only gained about 8 pounds but I look like I have gained a lot more. But anyways, pregnancy have been good to me. I have started to feel him kick, and let me say it is the weirdest feeling in the world in my opinion. You have no control over it so your not expecting it at all and then you get kicked, like I said its a weird feeling. It started out by feeling just like a pulse in your abdomen, then as the weeks go by they get stronger and more frequent. People at church are now starting to come up to me just to rub my tummy, even though I am not showing that much. Its kinda weird having people come up and rub your belly like Buddha. I go in for another sonogram May 18th where they will confirm the gender. I found out really early so I am hoping its still a boy.
Please don't laugh at my pictures, I don't look really good in any of them (either my hair was wet, my hair air dried, crazy faces and no makeup).
Me at 21 weeks
19 weeks
17 weeks
12 weeks

Great News!!

Jared got the job with GAMESTOP! Our prayers have been answered. Jared got the call on Friday that he got the job. They are now working on the background check and will be sending his acceptance letter with all the information and what not. We all know what this means...we will be moving out of the parents place and living on our own! Ugh...I am so ready! It is really hard to live on your own for a while and move back in with the family, its just not easy. I am going to be able to buy my own food, we will actually have internet again, my own kitchen, I'll get to use my own things. There is just so many things to be looking forward to. Plus, I get to go FURNITURE shopping, DECORATE my own place, and get the NURSERY all cute-sie up. Plus, with this job offer, hopefully we will be able to go car shopping. Like I said, there is just so many things to look forward to. This is just totally awesome.

Our Little Baby...

AND ITS A BOY!!!!!!
I can not believe it! I am super excited, I have always wanted a boy first and it looks like I will be getting my wish. We went to the doctor on Monday and got our Sonogram. I didn't think I would be able to know the sex of our baby until I was 20 weeks, but the nurse asked that if she could see the sex if we wanted to know. And of course, we said YES! We are totally not patient enough to not know. So here is our proof! You gotta say that is definitely man parts.
The really white part in the picture are the bones that are forming. Below is a picture of his little hand. He is so tiny right now, I believe the nurse said he is about 6" long and about 5-6 ounces. His heartbeat was 143 bpm.
And here is our little Easton Michael (this is the name we like best), his little profile. The dark spot in his chest is his heart. We were able to watch the heart pump blood through all 4 chambers, it was totally awesome! The nurse said as of now, everything is looking great. There was fluid in his stomach which meant that he is swallowing (a good sign) and fluid in the bladder which meant that at least one of his kidneys is working (also a good sign).
So a little side note, the night before our appointment, a friend of mine told me to drink a Dr. Pepper (caffeine or sugar) so our little monster would be moving for us. We got there and the nurse doing our sonogram was saying our little monster was moving all over the place. He even did a couple of flips for us, that was fun to watch.
So since finding out I am having a boy, I have been even more excited about this pregnancy. Not that a girl wouldn't be loved any less, I just wanted a boy first. I can't wait to finally meet him in person when he gets here. Jared and I are completely ecstatic.

Spring Happenings

I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything on blog, but when you are living in an environment that has no internet at the whim of every need, its not easy. So to catch up, Jared and I are still living with the parents. It will be 2 months in mid-April. We were turned down from the Dr. Pepper job, so as of now we have absolutely no leads as to where to look. Jared has applied to over 100 jobs and not one company has contacted back with him. We are getting frustrated. Living on our own for about a year and a half makes it hard moving back in with parents, we are definitely wanting to get out on our own again, but it is hard when we have no steady income.
As for me, I am now 14 1/2 weeks pregnant. Just barely starting to show, and even then some people can't tell. About a week before entering my Second Trimester, I got food poisoning, which was definitely not fun. Since then, I have been getting nauseated pretty easily, whether I'm in a car, walking, or even just watching TV. I have no idea whats going on, its just weird, especially since I had a great First Trimester, isn't the Second Trimester suppose to be the easiest trimester? Anyways, Jared has started the belly pictures, I will have to put them up so y'all can see them. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Spring!

Texas thus far...

So, obviously we made it to Texas. It was a long 2 day drive; 14 hours one day and 16 hours the second day. It was a long, slow trip. Because we were pulling a trailer, plus the truck being completely packed as well, we could only average about 55-60 mph the entire way. Jared had an interview with Dr. Pepper the Wednesday we got to Texas. It went very well, they even called him back for the 3rd and final interview for today. He also thinks it went really well, but only time will tell and a phone call. We are very hopeful for this job and it would be great for our growing family, plus we have tons of people praying for us, hopefully this is where God wants us to be and he will grant our prayers. It is nice being back in Texas and much warmer weather.
As far as pregnancy is going, I am about 10 weeks now. I don't think I am showing all that much. I just look fat due to the fact that mom has changed my diet completely, I was drinking skim milk, and mom has put me on whole milk (so pretty much she is putting me on food with high fat), and I have to eat A TON just to get my constant companion of queeziness stay away. Other than that, I have been doing ok, no morning sickness yet, and hopefully not ever. More to come soon.

BABY!!!

So, on top of moving to Texas this weekend. We are officially having a baby this year! We had our first ultra-sound today and we were able to see our little monster. I think they got a way good pic of the monster. Don't worry, the dark spot in the head is it's brain, not a hole in the head. At least that is what they told me. It still hasn't hit yet, that I am going to be a parent this year. I've got some major adjusting to do. Jared, is of course, super excited, I'm tending to be the more nervous/freaking out one. I know it is way too early, but I'm hoping for a boy. But a girl will be just as loved. We are super excited.

We are MOVING!!!

So it is official. We are hoping to be moving to Texas by the end of this week hopefully. Jared just had a phone interview with Dr. Pepper/Snapple Co. in Plano, Texas and it sounded like it could go through, so we aren't going to be taking any chances on missing this opportunity. Super Excited!

Starting Out February

February already. Time is really going fairly fast, even though everyday seems to drag by. I'm starting out this new month with goals I would like to achieve. Instead of staying home all day, I am getting up and going to the gym for roughly about an hour 4-5 times a week. I wanna get healthy and stay healthy. I'm tired of having to start over after doing a good run of working out for several weeks. The BYU Idaho gym has been redone and is larger than ever. The facilities are top notch, with over $1 million of new equipment. Yeah, talk about over load. However they are becoming Nazi's if you ask me. You have to walk through one of those turning things like at Six Flags or a Subway, by providing your I-number. So anyone who is graduated or whatever cannot use the gym. Luckily I have a sister who is still a student.
Something else I would like to start is my new baby blanket cross stitch project. I have a baby girl blanket pretty much done, so I need to get working on a baby boy so I can have one of each. The one I would like to start working on is this one.
I think it is pretty much perfect for a little boy. Its my favorite. I would like to do another girl one, more girly perhaps, and give the other one to someone who wants it. But yeah, I enjoy doing these cross stitch blankets. They keep me entertained for a while.

Bored-ness

Wow, I can't believe just how boring life can be sometimes. Since losing my job and having only 1 car between both Jared and I, I tend to get the short end of the stick. My days now consist of sitting around at home watching TV, surfing the internet for anything and everything, and eating. Yeah, I know, super eventful. Especially today. Jared got called into a double shift today at work so therefore, I am home by myself ALL DAY! I could really use some friends, or Jared could not but stubborn and just move us to Texas, that would just bless everyone in the world, Jared just doesn't see it. I've started working out in the mornings, but even then that only takes up about an hour out of my day and then Im stuck being bored again. Maybe I should get that second baby blanket and start cross-stitching that. That could keep me busy for a while.
Well, hopefully life will get more interesting as the days drag slowly by. That is if Im not getting punished for some reason.

Sad Day

So...I have been officially released of my work duties. Ugh I am so mad/sad. I loved working at the temple and being able to go everyday. So apparently, when I told my "step down boss lady" that I pulled out my Associates and that I wouldn't be able to work, turned out to actually be true. However, she even told me herself, that the Temple Custodial job is completely exceptional to that rule. So now, I am completely jobless with no money coming in. Man, this sucks. I totally had my schedule set for my days and now they are completely ruined! I am going to have to reschedule my entire days now. This really sucks.

Sick of Rexburg

Ugh...Rexburg is such a bore now. Knowing that I could be else where by now, either in Texas or California, I am so ready to be done with here. I am sick of the snow and the cold. I'm tired of wearing coats and sweaters around my house. I am tired of having to sleep with wool socks and flannel pjs. I certainly miss the days of sleeping in shorts and tshirt. Texas, if you really do love me, accept Jared for any of the jobs he has applied for so far, sooner rather than later. I don't know how much longer I can last.
Anyways...not much has happened this week. I am seeing a routine happening for the next however long I am going to be living here. I wake up at 9, take a shower, clean the kitchen, play on the ipod and little bit and put the TV on, make breakfast, go to work, come home, make dinner, then sit at home by my lonesome while Jared is at work. Like I said, it is not very eventful. This is going to be a long many weeks until a job acceptance. Pray everyone to get me out of my misery :)
